Hall of Fame Adds The Crickets to the Class of 2012!
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will make up for past oversights at this year's induction ceremony by admitting the backing groups of six first-generation rock stars. The honored groups include the Blue Caps (Gene Vincent), The Comets (Bill Haley), the Crickets (Buddy Holly), the Famous Flames (James Brown), the Midnighters (Hank Ballard) and the Miracles (Smokey Robinson).

When
the band that helped invent Rock n' Roll went back to the studio
to record the album of a lifetime, 13 legendary buddies joined
in the musical celebration. Sovereign Artists proudly presents
"THE CRICKETS & THEIR BUDDIES", produced by Grammy®-award-winning Greg Ladanyi and featuring guest performances by Peter Case, Eric Clapton, Rodney
Crowell, Phil Everly, Nanci Griffith, Waylon Jennings, Tonio
K., Albert Lee, Graham Nash, Vince Neil, John Prine, Johnny
Rivers, J.D. Souther, and Bobby Vee.
While
some people may have reservations about a few of these songs
being recorded yet again, the blending of The Crickets with
these awesome guest performances, as well as some newly constructed
arrangements, have given the material a new lease on life, resulting
in a most refreshing package. "THE CRICKETS & THEIR
BUDDIES" should certainly bring The Crickets and
their music to everybody's attention once again!
